Subtitle Edit

Create, edit, synchronize subtitles"
A review by John

Have you ever wondered how people make subtitles? If you think that it is by means of specialized software, then your guess is correct. There are a lot of ways to go about it, some of which involve more traditional methods that take time and effort. If you want a taste of a solution that does it all without any problems, then you simply have to try one of that software yourself.

This is subtitle editor software that lets you do more than meets the eye (and that its name suggests). It can do everything from editing the text of a subtitle file up to fixing the synchronization with its corresponding video. You can create your own subtitle tracks using the program too, adding markers and more.

Some interesting features:

  • sync and auto translate
  • spell checker
  • extract subtitles
  • adjust time
  • search and replace
  • compare
  • renumbering

It is super easy to use thanks to the canvas and timeline scheme, but don’t be fooled: it is a powerful tool that is rich in features too.

Subtitle Edit is licensed as freeware for Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system without restrictions. It is in other video tools category and is available to all software users as a free download.
